Brindlebeast

Beware the Brindlebeast (Special Edition) commemorates the 40th Anniversary of The National Theatre of the Deaf on sale here!

NTD's BEWARE THE BRINDLEBEAST TOUR concludes May 23, 2008

The Little Theatre of the Deaf (the children's touring group of the National Theatre of the Deaf) will conclude their performances of Beware the Brindlebeast and How Ladybug Got Her Name. The year-long tour has been terrific! Under the direction of new NTD Executive Director Aaron Kubey, the cast of four talented actors simply DAZZLE!! Cast members Ian Sanborn, Vikee Waltrip, Karla Marrero and Marnie Sellers make every word, every character come alive! Contact tour@ntd.org to book a performance for the 2007-2008 season.

From the National Theatre of the Deaf website:

"Beware the Brindlebeast is the quintessential read-aloud picture book, beautifully written and illustrated by the gifted, Anita Riggio.  The National Theatre of the Deaf celebrates its 40th Anniversary by performing this warm-hearted tale where children hang on every suspenseful turn, and adults detect an underlying message: The way we deal with our personal beasts has everything to do with the quality of our lives."

Finding True North: the audio seminar in writing from the inside out

Dedicated with affection and admiration to my first group of students: Lynda Mullaly Hunt, Jan Kozlowski, Gael Lynch, Laurie Murphy, Mary Pierce and Susan Fraser -Perrotta.

These writing exercises are the basis of my Coveside Writing Workshops™
and word for word, comprise the first seminar taken by incoming MFA in Creative Writing candidates at Lesley University. In this MP3 audio file (also available on disc) I coach you through a pyramid of five powerful guided writing exercises: 1) Writing from the inside out 1, 2) Writing from the inside out 2,
3) Heart to Heart, 4) Hand in Glove, 5) Disinterested Stranger. Each exercise builds to the next one, creating a rich pyramid of resonant material. Shaping, sculpting and carving this material are the steps that follow.

The first step is Finding True North.
